WALTER PATTON REACHES CHURCH IN UGANDA
I am Walter Patton, retired full Local Pastor. At
present ,I am not serving a church. My last appointment was the
Glassport United Methodist Church. My home church is West Side of
McKeesport.
My ministries for the past 2 ½ years has been
supporting Pastor Julius Mugabi and the Mount Olives United Methodist
Church of the East Africa Conference in the country of
Uganda. Glassport and West Side, along with a number
of others, have helped financially in this mission outreach. I cane in
contact with this pastor and church on a visit to that region as part
of a 26 member team January 12-26, 2005. My main focus now is raising
support for land purchase to eventually be the site for a needed new
Church building. For doing this, my theme is a little multiplied by a
lot equals a lot.
Using loose change as an example, hundreds or
thousands of people emptying pockets and purses of pennies, nickels,
dimes and quarters would add up to enough to complete this project. A
commitment of at least $10. per month would also help.
The Advance Special #SS003600A/Mount Olives Land
Purchase is used. Churches can be supportive by collecting change in a
coffee can and sending the money to the Conference Treasurer under the
above numbers.
To learn more about this outreach, Reverend Patton is
available to churches for a slide -talk program. He can be reached at
